Thanaa Al Shamy has over 20 years of experience in the language industry. After graduation from Al-Alsun faculty, she started her career in 1997 as a website content writer and translator at Sakhr Software Company. Meanwhile, she started taking steps as a freelance translator by translating books and articles for publishing houses and technical magazines. She established her translation specialization in the software and IT fields, and had successful localization projects with SaudiSoft. Her experience in the software documentation was accumulated through her position as a technical writer at Aria Systems and IBM Egypt.
In 2005, she started her freelancing career as a technical writer and localizer, participating in many big projects for national and international companies, in the documentation & localization field, as well as in software, telecom and banking sectors, e.g. BASS, EMC, WriteIT, Microsoft, ITWorx, STC and CIB.
